FAQS

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED THERAPY?

People consider therapy for lots of different reasons; people may be having problems sleeping, or they may have experienced something they have found traumatic.  Generally, most people choose therapy because something in their life is not how they want it to be, and they either want to make a change or find a way of managing the symptoms in a different way.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Each session will last for 50 - 60 minutes although in certain circumstances longer sessions can be agreed.  It varies from person to person how many sessions people have, but it can be anything between 5-20 (12 as average)

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I CONTACT YOU?

I aim to respond to people within 48 hours.  Our first step is to have a free 20 minute phone consultation where I will ask you some questions about what support you are looking for at the moment.  We will then arrange a face to face assessment if you wish to consider your treatment options with me.

WHAT IF I CANNOT MAKE IT TO A THERAPY ROOM?

I work with people individually to find a plan that works for them.  I am happy to do therapy over the phone, or via video or text therapy if helpful; and can discuss the possibility of home visits where appropriate.  I find some people find it easier to talk while walking, so I'm happy to offer walking therapy - weather dependent.
